So you want to make money online but you have absolutely no idea where to start and no idea of how to design websites. Is it, therefore, beyond the realms of possibility for you to successfully earn extra money marketing on line? Of course it isn’t, anyone can do it!

There are numerous on line methods of making money without actually having your own website. You can, for example, discover how to blog the way to your small fortune. blogging, a website without the necessity of website skills usually gets updated every few days with posts about your chosen topics. Visitors to your blog are allowed to make comments on your posts for others to see. You can place advertising on your blog provided automatically by Google and you will receive payment whenever those advertisements are clicked upon.

You can also use your blog to sell products as an affiliate and you will be paid commission. The amount of commission is controlled by the owner of the product and is paid for each sale that comes about as a result of one of your visitors actually buying the product. The site Clickbank is used by thousands of product owners as a payment processor for any sales. It is free for affiliates to enrol and find products to consider for promotion on their blog. Blogger, LiveJournal, and WordPress, are a selection of the free sites where you can quickly and simply set your blog up. Choose a market niche you are knowledgeable with as the topic of your blog and then every few days post a comment on your blog. Of course, that’s not entirely all there is to it. You have to draw people to look at your blog and hopefully click on the products you’re promoting as an affiliate or on your paid advertisements. Most blog sites are search-able by keywords.

Search for the same words you used for your own website and you will find other blogs. Put comments on blogs with a link back to your blog or squidoo lens. If you are short of time you can pay people to make comments on your behalf. The cost of this varies from 10 cents to $1.00 per posted comment. You can also submit your blog’s url to search engines so if a person is requiring information on ‘how to raise guppies’ and that is the subject of your blog, it will show up for visitors to find. You could also write articles on ‘how to raise guppies’ and distribute those articles to directories. GoArticles and Ezinearticles are two directories favoured by Google.

Once again, if someone is searching for ‘how to raise guppies’ your article will pop up. They click the article and then click on your blog. Spend a little time on research and you can successfully increase the funds in your bank account with on line marketing, just simply by blogging.

How To Discover Profitable KEYWORDs in Google Adwords

One of the biggest mistakes Internet Marketers make is the illusion that driving thousands of visitors to their site is the most important criteria for online success. It is unfortunate that this is one of the most costly exercises most will face will trying to grow their online business. Without traffic you are not going to make a single sale let alone a profitable scalable business, this much is true but to what extent does the amount of traffic play a role?

I have seen budding Marketers taking their money and throw it into the hands of Google and Yahoo as if throwing larger amounts of money on advertising on pay per click networks would yield better returns. This usually ends up being a vicious cycle like a degenerate gambler throwing more money on the table in the hopes to finally hit a winner, in our case, sales. Lets examine how we can find cheap profitable keywords and ultimately creating profitable Adwords campaigns.

First thing we need to accept is that more traffic doesn’t equate into more sales, it equates into higher costs, simple. If we are paying for people to come to our site, who are we wanting to land on our site? Are you happy to pay for information you are giving for people who are still researching a product, who have a question they want answered but not even considering spending a dollar for that information? Time after time marketers are attracting visitors who simple do not want what they are selling, why is that, well because they don’t even know themselves what they want, they are simply researching for a solution.

Let look at an example that illustrates this better than any, the “make money online” marketing. Now think about that keyword, who is typing those words into the search field? Obviously someone that after information about how to make money online, they do not know how, the do not know the best method, their options or even if it is possible. Do you want to pay for this people clicking your Ad? The “make money online” keyword is one of the most costly keyword around because competition is fierce but more importantly Marketers believe this keyword will convert. Obviously people are making sales with it, but are they making a profit?

The buy cycle is the most important criterion you must examine when deciding on which keywords to pay for. You goal should be to find keywords that target those who know what they want but require a gentle push to make a decision to pull out their credit cards and enter those digits. This visitors have done their research and are ready to buy a product or service to best suite their needs. In the example above, for the “make money online” keyword, put yourself in the shoes of the person searching in Google. Obviously these people are researching, internet marketers make their jobs so much harder by trying to convince people to do something, you shouldn’t need to take someone from the research phase to the buy phases, your keywords should be targeting those who are ready to buy.

Broad keywords will not only result in higher cost per click but unwanted traffic, you need to be very specific and isolate those who you want to visit your site. Would you care if you only had 10 visitors a day but 1 in every 3 lead to a sale? Of course not, you must get out of the mindset that more traffic will get you more sales. HIGHLY TARGETED traffic will lead to more sales, higher conversion rates, cheaper clicks and ultimately more money in your pocket.

General rule of thumb I like to use is to use keywords that are a minimum of 3+ words long, target those late in the buy cycle who simply require a gentle nudge to pull out their credit card, nothing more. In these cases you do not even to put in the hard sale, these people are on the fence just looking for some reassurance that they are making the right decision.

If you are wondering which people are finding cheap and profitable keywords, accept the fact that their is no secret to discovering these words. My favorite tool is my good old, thrashed at times, brain. Once you understand your market keywords should be popping up for you, take note, some of my best converting keywords are 7+ words long. Why? because i am speaking directly to those ready to buy and not trying to convince someone to go from 0 to 60 in 2 seconds.

Long tail keywords that are targeted to those late in the buy cycle will be not only cheaper but more profitable. Get out of the mindset that more traffic is better traffic, higher conversions, cheaper clicks equates to profit.

More importantly, research research and more research. Understand your market, once you can get into the head of your market, highly targeted keywords will become apparent and you will be amazed at how cheap your clicks will become.

How To Find a Profitable Niche

When it all comes down to it, making money online starts and ends with the market you decide to enter.

These days, all you hear is about “finding your niche” or you need to “find a profitable niche”. Well, I happen to agree as do all other successful internet marketers.

But how exactly do you find a niche to get started in?

First of all, let’s clarify what a niche is. A niche is like a sub section of a broad market. For example, a broad market might be dating, but the niche you might discover would be Over 40′s Dating in North America.

Do you see the difference? Clearly, the niche is targeted to a certain type of people within a wider market (which is Dating in this example).

So, your job is to find a specific set of people who are looking for information, products and services or that generally have a burning interest in that subject. Here’s your checklist before you go out and start looking for a profitable niche to get started with:

1.  Make sure they are buyers.

There’s no point targeting people who aren’t interested in buying anything related to that niche.

2. Make sure they are active online.

There needs to be forums, groups and other communities that congregate online so that you can target these people and get to know them properly.

The next thing to do is actually start your research. You can go to Dmoz.com and start looking around at categories listed there. Drill down to find small topics that you’d never think about. Then once you’ve found something of interest, go to eBay and Amazon and see if there are books/products/services that are selling which are related to this topic.

Then take some keywords that you think are related to the topic and do a search for related forums and groups. You can do that with a search like this:

“your keyword” + groups
“your keyword” + forums

Just replace “your keyword” with the actual keyword you have in mind, and then hit search in your favorite search engine.

Once you’ve established that there are products that are selling and people gathering actively online in forums and groups, you know that you are onto a winner.

The next steps are to find out what information people want and to start creating some simple articles on your own new domain which relates to this topic.

Then you can focus on monetizing the website and of course, the most important part is getting some good traffic to your site, which is the make or break part of the entire internet marketing process.

It’s also far too much to go into detail in this article, so make sure you check out this website to find out how to drive a lot of traffic to your site, plus more ideas on how to find even more wildly profitable niches and ways to shortcut your way to online success..
