How many times have you heard an internet marketing ‘guru’ say that the money is in the list?  It has become a cliché these days, and one that gets spouted again and again and again, so much so that many people are sick of hearing it.  But guess what?  You’re going to hear it some more, because this cliché is true, there really is money in the list.

By building a mailing list you build up a list of potential customers that you have access to again and again.  There are a huge number of benefits to that, benefits that show just why the money is in the list.

Why the Money is in the List

• You are no longer dependent on search engines to send customers to you, you can go direct to customers.  With an emailing list you are able to get sales propositions, special offers and information direct to people – without relying on Google to send people your way.
• You can contact interested people when ever you want.  If you have a list of 3,000 people who have signed up to receive a newsletter or updates from you then you know they are interested because they signed up by choice, they weren’t forced.  As they are on your mailing list that means you have access to interested parties whenever you want it.
• It becomes a business.  Without a list many websites are just ‘stop off points’, somewhere customers may stop off in and look, perhaps buy if they like something, but repeat business can be difficult and if you packed up and went then few would know.  By having a regular mailing newsletter sent to customers and potential customers it is a real business who practices real customer service.
• Numbers.  One of the main advantages links in with all 3 above – when it comes to launching a product, having a sale or anything, the more people you get the offer in front of the more sales you will have – and having a list means not just getting search engine traffic but getting traffic from your mailing list of pre-qualified people.
• Relationships.  Relationships are key to selling.  Building up a trust with customers so they come back for repeat orders is vital to a business’ success, and with a mailing list people get used to you, to your style and to your service.  Provide them with free info and the like and they will come to trust and respect you.  Don’t make everything a sales pitch and you are more likely to sell more.
• Branding.  People seeing your name in their inbox on a frequent basis works just as well as any branding or advertising in newspapers or magazines.  They start to remember your name and will choose to go to you for information or to buy things.  Don’t underestimate the power of email branding.

In short if you want repeat business from lots of pre-qualified customers, people who you know will buy (and often have bought) what you are selling then you NEED a list.  Internet marketing guru’s will often talk a lot of rubbish but in this one they have scored a direct hit – the money really is in the list.

This is a great technique to use as it makes your blog look more influential and larger than life giving the appearance that you have individuals buying advertising space on your blog. Make sure the banners you put on there are of the same or are in a related niche that the blog is about so that you don’t confuse your visitor as to what they are looking for. 3. Place AdSense Ads On Your Blog: Google AdSense provides you with a number of ad type options – image or text based to place on your blog that once clicked on by visitors can generate income for you. Implementing AdSense is very easy. You specify your preferences and just copy and paste into your page source code where you would like the ad to show up. You can use the same code on any of your websites. Once implemented DO NOT click on these AdSense ads yourself as this constitutes click fraud and google will penalize you for that. You can’t cheat the system they WILL find out so do this the proper way and it will payoff.

Remember blogging for money is a business and content alone will not generate money for you. You must do additional research ( just google building blog traffic or something similar) to become skilled at how to generate traffic to your blog as traffic, traffic, traffic means mo’ money in online marketing. A blog with no traffic, if your looking to make money, is just that.

Find a profitable niche, identify keywords, create your own or find an affiliate product, create your website with a lead-capture form, drive traffic and track your progress. Thereafter, build a relationship with those who subscribe to your list through a series of emails. Do not merely shove offer after offer down their throats but be personal and give good tips and contents that would benefit your subscribers.

Most Online Marketing gurus say that making money on the internet is not rocket science. Actually, it’s true. The steps above are simple but if done regularly, will produce results sooner or later. It sure beats all the hit-and-miss efforts that so many newbies make, that result in ultimate failure. Online success comes by doing the right things the right way.
