Well I just started at this thing called affiliate marketing last week. I got my first leads this week. I have made a told of $3.10 but it is the fastest I have made money on the ‘Net so far. I will tell you what I did.

3 of the $3.10 was made giving away free magazine subscriptions. I think this will be a staple of mine for awhile. I try to step back and think of things as a customer. Why would I fill out a this form, why would I give this person my email address or enter my zip code. If when I look at a splash page, web site or landing page and it can’t convince me or I don’t see the value in what is being offered or given away I don’t try to promote it. I mean come on everyone wants something for free and giving away magazine subscriptions seems like a no brainer, well for me at least.

The other 10 cents came from my affiliatebot.com referral from this blog. Yes it is only .10 right now but when/if the person starts using the service I get a additional $1.00 PLUS 5% lifetime commission. That is what I am looking at. That big 5% lifetime. If I got enough referrals; say 25 it only take that one who is great at what he is doing to make it all worth while.

The magazine subscriptions I am giving away is thru ourfreestuff.net. I posted a review about them earlier this week. A very good network so far and they offer VERY good flexibility as far how you can promote their programs. I current promote them thru PPC, Traffic exchanges, Forum signatures and email.

So yes it is only $3.10 but it is a start and gives me some form of hope that I might be headed in the right direction. My intentions are to take my readers along for the ride with me from the start. From the ground up so see what works and what doesn’t. I want to save people time and money and help them becomes successful by learning from my failures and my successes. I consider this first week a mini success .

I did a small adwords campaign with leads and sales  (it was only $25.00). I will post on it once it is done and what I have seen. It does seem like leads is the way to go for the time being. I know at least for myself I dont have much disposal income laying around to buy things online but if I see something that is “free” worth signing up for by filling out a long or short form then I am going to go for it. Again I think if you THINK like a customer you marketing will be more successful and your choosing of what to market will be easier.
